Play Batman Beyond Online

Swing through a moody pixel Gotham as Terry, punching mutants and dodging drones—those red suit accents somehow pop on the tiny screen. Feels like the show, just with chunkier combat and the occasional cheap death from rushing in.

Game Overview

Batman Beyond on the Game Boy Color, released in 2000 by Kemco, was one of those licensed games that felt right at home on the handheld. It arrived when the show was still fresh, and it captured that sleek, futuristic Gotham vibe in a way that worked on the small screen. You control Terry McGinnis, the new Batman, navigating a city that feels both familiar and new, with a lot of verticality built into its level design.

You move through the city and interior environments screen by screen, using a combination of punches, kicks, and your batsuit's glide ability to take down enemies. The main goal is to stop a new wave of criminals, which involves progressing through linear stages, defeating bosses, and occasionally backtracking to access new areas with later upgrades. Combat is straightforward but requires timing, especially against groups, and the platforming can be precise, sometimes leading to frustrating falls if you misjudge a jump. It feels like a solid, action-focused side-scroller that does a good job of making you feel like the Batman of the future.
