Battle-Bots - Beyond The Battlebox is one of those GBA games that feels simple at first, but gets surprisingly deep once you start tweaking your bot. You spend a lot of time in the garage swapping parts, testing different weapons, and trying to balance speed with armor.

The fights themselves are chaotic in a good way. Your bot moves a little stiffly, but that just makes landing a solid hit with a spinning blade or hammer even more satisfying. I remember one match where I barely won because my opponent got stuck on a corner, and I just kept whacking them until time ran out.

It's not perfect—some of the upgrades feel pointless, and the AI can be either too easy or unfairly sharp. But if you like tinkering with builds and watching them clash, Battle-Bots - Beyond The Battlebox has a weird charm to it.
