Play Battle Fleet Online
Plotting torpedo strikes on a grid while muttering naval commands to yourself—until you realize the AI just baited your whole fleet into a death trap. Pure saltwater chess.

Battle Fleet came out in 1994 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Strategic Simulations, Inc. It was a time when turn-based naval strategy games were finding a dedicated audience, and this one fit right in with its focus on methodical, thoughtful play rather than flashy graphics or speed.
You command a fleet of warships, positioning them on a grid and planning each move carefully to outmaneuver the enemy. The main goal is to sink all opposing vessels before they destroy yours. Key mechanics include plotting torpedo trajectories, managing ship systems like engines and weapons, and anticipating enemy movements based on limited information. The pacing is slow and deliberate, demanding patience and foresight; mistakes are costly and often irreversible. It feels like a tense, silent game of chess played on an unpredictable ocean.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
