Battle Out Run is one of those classic Sega Master System games that feels like a mashup of Out Run and a cop chase. You're behind the wheel of a slick red sports car, tearing through cities like LA and New York, trying to ram eight target vehicles off the road. The yellow civilian cars are everywhere though, and hitting them slows you down—annoying when you're inches from catching your mark.
What I like is the pit stop halfway through each stage. You pull into this garage where you can spend your hard-earned cash on upgrades or nitro boosts (if you've got the money). The controls take a second to get used to—it's not as smooth as Out Run—but once you get the hang of nudging those target cars just right, it's satisfying. Just don't expect deep realism; this is pure arcade-style chaos with that classic Sega feel.
