Battlezone: Rise of the Black Dogs is one of those weirdly cool N64 games where you're basically fighting a secret Cold War... on the moon. Yeah, the Soviets and Americans are up there blasting each other with hover tanks, and nobody back on Earth has a clue. You jump into this futuristic tank that handles like a mix between a race car and a boat—takes a minute to get used to, but once you do, skidding around lunar craters while dodging enemy fire feels surprisingly smooth.

There are three ways to play: Arcade mode throws endless waves of enemies at you (good luck surviving past level 5), Story mode drops you into scripted missions with radio chatter that actually makes it feel like you're part of some classified operation, and Strategy mode lets you build bases and command units RTS-style. The N64 version even adds new missions that pick up where the PC game ended, so if you played the original, there's more lore to dig into.
