Play Beethovens 2nd Online
Guide Beethoven through suburban levels, rescue his puppies, avoid gnomes and animal control, collect bones, and unlock doors in this 1993 SNES platformer.
Beethoven's 2nd came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Hi Tech Expressions. It was one of those licensed games that showed up a lot on the system, based on the family movie about the big, slobbery dog. You don't see people talk about it much now, but it was definitely on the shelves back then.
You control the St. Bernard, Beethoven, guiding him through side-scrolling levels to rescue his stolen puppies. The main objective is to navigate suburban environments, hopping over obstacles and avoiding enemies like garden gnomes and animal control officers. You collect bones for points and find keys to unlock doors that progress the stage. The pacing is fairly slow, and the controls feel a bit heavy, which makes some of the platforming tricky. It feels like you're just trying to manage the chaos of a very large, very determined dog.
