Beneath A Steel Sky is one of those classic point-and-click adventures that sticks with you. You play as Robert Foster, a guy from the wasteland outside Union City who gets dragged into this corporate-run dystopia after his tribe is wiped out. The city feels alive in a weird, broken way—rich elites living it up while everyone else struggles, and this creepy AI called LINC pulling strings behind everything. Your only ally? Joey, a wisecracking little droid who’s way more useful than he looks.

The Virtual Theatre engine makes the world feel less static than other adventure games—characters wander around doing their own thing, which adds to the immersion. The iPhone version smooths things out with touch controls, sharper animations (courtesy of Dave Gibbons, the comic artist behind the original), and a hint system for when you’re stuck staring at a pixel for too long. It’s got that perfect mix of cyberpunk grit and dry British humor.

If you like your sci-fi with a side of sarcasm and some genuinely clever puzzles, this one’s a gem. Just don’t expect Joey to go easy on you.
