Beneath A Steel Sky is one of those classic point-and-click adventures that still holds up—especially with the iPhone version smoothing out the rough edges. You play as Robert Foster, a guy from the wasteland tribes who gets dragged into Union City, this corporate-run dystopia where everything’s falling apart. The opening alone is wild: your helicopter crashes, and suddenly you’re stuck in this decaying metropolis with only your snarky little droid Joey for company.

What I love is how alive the city feels. Characters wander around doing their own thing, muttering about how much life sucks under LINC (the creepy AI running everything). The puzzles are tough but fair—though I’ll admit I leaned on the hint system a few times. And the art? Dave Gibbons (yeah, the Watchmen guy) did these gritty, detailed comic-style cutscenes that make the whole thing feel like a graphic novel come to life.

If you’re into cyberpunk stories where you poke around trash-filled alleys and outwit corporate goons, this is your jam. Just don’t expect Joey to be polite about it.
