Play Beneath a Steel Sky Online

You wake up in a grimy cyberpunk city with no memory, hacking terminals and solving puzzles while your sarcastic robot buddy throws shade at everything. The pixel art’s still gorgeous—especially when neon lights flicker over rain-soaked alleyways.

Game Overview

Beneath a Steel Sky came out in 1994 for MS-DOS, developed by Revolution Software. It was a point and click adventure from that era, set in a dystopian future where corporations control everything and the sky is literally made of metal. You play as Robert Foster, a man raised in the wasteland outside the city, who gets dragged back into this oppressive urban jungle after a helicopter crash.

You control Foster directly, clicking to move him through pre-rendered environments, picking up items, and talking to other characters to uncover the story. Your main goal is to figure out why you were brought back to the city and what happened to your past. The game relies heavily on inventory puzzles and dialogue choices; you also get help from a circuit board personality called Joey, who you can plug into various computers to hack systems or get information. The pacing is deliberate, with some puzzles requiring careful observation or revisiting locations. Playing it feels like slowly peeling back layers of a grim, well-written conspiracy.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
