Big Sea is one of those forgotten MS-DOS gems where you and up to three friends could spend an afternoon sinking each other’s ships. It’s not some ultra-realistic naval sim—more like a quick, chaotic brawl on the water where you’re frantically adjusting sails and lining up cannon shots while your buddy tries to ram you from the side.
The controls are simple enough that you’ll be firing broadsides within minutes, but there’s some sneaky depth in how wind direction affects your movement. I remember getting wrecked the first few rounds because I kept ignoring it. Play against the AI if you must, but the real fun is in local multiplayer, shouting at each other across the keyboard like it’s 1994.
It’s rough around the edges by today’s standards, but that’s part of the charm. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro DOS games, this one’s worth digging up.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
