Game Overview

Ah, Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon on the Game Boy—this one takes me back. You start off as Usagi, fumbling through Tokyo streets before transforming into Sailor Moon, and yeah, the sprites are tiny but weirdly charming. The first time I accidentally triggered Sailor Jupiter’s thunder attack instead of Moon’s tiara throw, I realized each scout actually plays differently, which was a nice surprise.

It’s got that janky early ‘90s platforming feel—enemies pop up out of nowhere, and the jump physics are... let’s say "committed to the era." But smashing through waves of Youma with Luna cheering you on? Pure serotonin. The boss fights against Nephrite or Zoisite are short but satisfying, especially when you figure out their patterns (hint: spam Mercury’s bubbles).

Honestly, half the fun is just seeing the anime’s goofy drama play out in 8-bit. If you’ve got a soft spot for clunky handheld classics or spent your childhood waving a plastic Moon Stick at the TV, this’ll hit right in the nostalgia. Just maybe play it near a lamp—Game Boy screen glare and all.
