Black Sect came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Lankhor. It was a point and click adventure from that era, focused on puzzles and atmosphere rather than fast action.
You control a lone adventurer exploring a cursed manor and its grounds, solving inventory puzzles and avoiding magical traps. The main goal is to lift a dark curse by finding specific items and using them in the right places. Signature mechanics include screen by screen exploration, interacting with objects by clicking, and managing a limited inventory of tools and clues. The pacing is slow and deliberate, with a high difficulty due to obscure puzzle solutions and instant magical penalties for mistakes. It feels like carefully picking your way through a haunted, interactive story where every decision carries weight.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
