Blaze On is one of those arcade games that looks simple at first—just a little ship zipping around, dodging lasers and blasting enemies—but after a few minutes, you realize how much it demands from you. The controls are tight, and the screen fills up fast with neon bullets and weird little alien ships that swarm you from all sides.
I kept dying at first because I’d panic and mash buttons, but once I slowed down and started weaving through gaps instead of just holding down fire, it clicked. The retro synth soundtrack and those chunky pixel explosions make every close call feel like a victory. If you like games where you barely scrape by with a sliver of health left, this one’s got that perfect balance of chaos and control.
Also, the later levels get absolutely ridiculous in the best way.
