If you've got a PSP and even a passing interest in Bleach, Heat the Soul 7 is basically required playing. The moment you boot it up, you're thrown into these chaotic, flashy battles where characters zip around with shunpo, clash swords mid-air, and unleash their bankai in ways that actually feel as over-the-top as the anime. Ichigo's Getsuga Tenshō has this ridiculous screen-filling slash, and Byakuya's Senbonzakura Kageyoshi? Yeah, it's just as deadly here as you'd hope.
This was the last game in the Heat the Soul series, so they went all out—74 characters, including some deep cuts from the Arrancar arc. Hollowfied Ichigo versus Ulquiorra is every bit as brutal as it should be, and the 3D models somehow make the fights feel faster than ever. It's not super technical, but pulling off combos while dodging with that quick dash never gets old. Just don't be surprised when you lose track of time trying to unlock every last fighter.
Honestly, it's the closest you'll get to feeling like a Soul Reaper without, you know, actually dying and ending up in the Soul Society. If your PSP still works, this one's worth the dust-off.
