Game Overview

Okay, so Blue's Journey (sometimes called Raguy) is this weird little Neo Geo gem—part platformer, part action-strategy thing where you play as this blue-haired dude trying to save his planet from vegetable-themed invaders. Yeah, you heard that right. The first time I booted it up, I wasn’t sure if I was playing a cutesy platformer or some bizarre alien war sim, but it somehow works.

You’ve got these tiny, colorful sprites bouncing around, but don’t let that fool you—some of the jumps are brutal, and the enemy swarms get ridiculous fast. The coolest part? You can recruit little mushroom soldiers (called "Raguys") to fight for you, and they actually matter—like, if you lose them all, you’re basically screwed. I kept getting wiped early on until I realized I had to actually *use* them instead of just charging ahead.

Oh, and the bosses? Some of them are just giant vegetables with faces, which is either hilarious or terrifying depending on how badly they’re kicking your ass. The controls take a second to get used to (why is the jump button so stiff?), but once it clicks, it’s weirdly satisfying. Just don’t expect a deep story—this is pure, chaotic Neo Geo energy from start to finish.

Also, heads up: the US version is way harder than the Japanese one. Pick your poison.
