Game Overview

Man, Boovie is one of those weird little MS-DOS games that somehow sticks with you. At first glance, it looks like another low-budget '90s oddity—blocky graphics, a color palette that screams "VGA monitor," and this bizarre sense of humor where nothing makes sense but everything somehow works. You start off controlling this little dude (or creature? Honestly couldn't tell) through these surreal, almost dreamlike levels where the rules keep changing.

What got me hooked was how unpredictable it felt. One minute you're solving a puzzle by stacking random objects, the next you're dodging flying... I don't even know what those things were. The controls take a second to get used to (classic DOS jank), but once it clicks, you just roll with the chaos. It's not trying to be epic or profound—just genuinely playful in a way most games forgot how to be.

If you've ever dug through old abandonware sites or have a soft spot for games that feel like they were coded at 3 AM on a caffeine high, Boovie's worth dusting off a DOS emulator for. It's short, it's silly, and it absolutely could not exist today.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
