Game Overview

Bouncing Bill came out for the Amiga in 1991, developed by a small team whose name escapes me now. It was one of those platformers that felt right at home on the system, not trying to push boundaries but offering a solid, straightforward experience. You controlled a cheerful, bouncy character named Bill, and the goal was simple: get through each level without falling or getting hit.

You guide Bill through screen after screen of obstacles, using his natural bounce to jump over gaps and enemies. The main objective is to reach the exit, but along the way you collect power-ups that change your abilities, like higher jumps or temporary invincibility. Hidden warp zones let you skip ahead if you find them, which was always a nice surprise. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty ramps up steadily, demanding precise timing in later stages. It feels light and responsive, a game that rewards practice without ever feeling unfair.
