Game Overview

I first played Bouncing Babies back in the 1980s on a friend's MS-DOS machine. It was a 1984 release from First Star Software, one of those simple, frantic arcade-style games that felt right at home on the platform. You didn't need a complicated backstory or fancy graphics; it was pure, uncomplicated action built around a single, absurd premise.

You control two firefighters holding a trampoline-like stretcher, positioned at the bottom of the screen. Your only job is to catch babies that are dropped from the windows of a burning building. The core mechanic is timing the bounce of your stretcher to meet each falling baby at the right moment. If you miss, the baby falls past you and an ambulance siren wails in clear disapproval. The game speeds up relentlessly, and the babies fall in increasingly unpredictable patterns, making it a genuine test of reflexes. It feels like controlled chaos, a race against your own reaction time as much as the game's clock.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
