Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure came out in 1991 for MS-DOS, published by Capstone Software. It was one of those licensed games from the era, built around the movie's time-traveling premise. You played it on a clunky PC, probably with a keyboard that made everything feel a little stiff, but it had its own charm if you were into the film.

You control either Bill or Ted, moving screen by screen through different time periods to find historical figures like Socrates or Genghis Khan. The main goal is to gather them all and bring them back to the present for your history report. You explore areas, avoid guards or hazards, and use items you find, like a key to unlock a door or a sandwich to distract someone. The pacing is slow, the controls are unforgiving, and it gets repetitive quickly, but there's a strange satisfaction when you finally get Napoleon to the phone booth. It feels like solving a clunky, illogical puzzle that only makes sense if you remember the movie.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
