Brainies, The (Europe) came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, developed and published by Titus France. It was one of those early puzzle platformers that tried something a little different, fitting right into the SNES library's experimental side without making a huge splash.
You control a group of small, round creatures called Brainies, each with a specific ability; one jumps, another pushes blocks, and a third might just wander into danger if you aren't careful. Your goal is to guide all of them safely through each screen based puzzle room, avoiding hazards like spikes and enemies. The game requires careful timing and switching between characters to use their skills in the right order. It can be unforgiving, with mistakes often forcing a restart, but there's a real satisfaction in finally getting every Brainy to the exit. It feels like managing a chaotic, sometimes frustrating, but always engaging little team.
