Play Brainscape Online
Navigate a maze, solve logic puzzles, and decode symbols in this abstract puzzle game from 1991.
Brainscape came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Jeff Noyle. It was a time when puzzle games often relied on simple graphics and deep, sometimes unforgiving, logic challenges. This one fit right in, offering a cerebral experience that stood apart from the action titles of the era.
You control a cursor, moving screen by screen through an abstract, maze-like structure. Your main objective is to navigate this surreal space by solving a series of logic puzzles; these often involve decoding floating symbols or determining sequences based on cryptic rules. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, demanding careful thought with every move. It feels less like playing a game and more like untangling a persistent, personal riddle that lives in the back of your mind.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
