Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars on the DS is one of those classic point-and-click adventures that just sticks with you. You play as George, an American tourist who gets tangled up in a conspiracy involving ancient Templars after a bomb goes off in Paris. The Director’s Cut adds some nice tweaks—better visuals, extra puzzles, and even sections where you play as journalist Nico.
The puzzles are clever without being ridiculous (though I did get stuck on that goat for way too long). The writing’s sharp, the characters actually feel real, and the story’s got this slow-burn mystery that keeps pulling you forward. If you’ve never played it before, the DS version’s a great way to experience it—just be ready for some old-school adventure game logic here and there.
Honestly, it’s one of those games that makes you miss when adventures were more about dialogue and atmosphere than just quick-time events.
