Game Overview
Brutal: Paws of Fury is this weirdly charming Amiga fighting game where animals beat each other up under the Dalai Llama’s watch. You pick a furry fighter—I went with the kangaroo first—and brawl your way across an island, kicking, punching, and occasionally taunting to regain health. The taunts are ridiculous, by the way—my tiger just stuck out its tongue mid-fight.
Matches play out in rounds, and you’ve gotta win enough to move on. Lose, and it’s game over (unless you use a continue). The outdoor stages keep things interesting—fighting on a wobbly log bridge is way harder than it sounds. And yeah, the graphics are cartoony compared to Mortal Kombat, but that just makes it funnier when your rabbit lands a spinning kick to a bear’s face.
You can jump straight into a single fight if you don’t want to do the whole tournament, which is great for quick matches against a friend. The console versions had this cool unlockable moves system, but the Amiga version skips that. Still, watching the different ending scenes for each character is worth finishing the whole thing.
