Play Brutal - Paws of Fury on Msdos Online

Pick an animal fighter, mash buttons until fur flies, and try not to laugh when the kangaroo spins its tail like a helicopter. The DOS version’s a bit clunky, but landing that tiger uppercut still feels great.

Game Overview

Brutal: Paws of Fury is one of those weird, mid-90s fighting games that somehow got ported to everything—Amiga, Genesis, SNES, even the 32X. I first played the DOS version, which honestly feels a little janky now, but back then? Pure adrenaline. You pick from this roster of animal fighters (my go-to was the tiger, obviously) and beat the fur off each other in a tournament to face the Dalai Llama—yes, a literal llama in a robe.

The SNES version handles best if you ask me—those six face buttons actually let you pull off proper combos instead of fumbling with the Genesis’s awkward three-button toggle. Graphics are cleaner too, though the Mega-CD version has that sweet CD audio soundtrack. Either way, it’s all about timing those ridiculous special moves, like the kangaroo’s spinning tail slap or the rhino’s charge attack that sends opponents flying.

It’s not Street Fighter, but there’s something charming about its over-the-top animal brawling. Just don’t expect deep mechanics—this is pure arcade chaos.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
