Game Overview

Bubble Bobble on the Game Boy came out in 1990, a portable version of Taito's arcade hit. It was one of those games you'd see everywhere back then, a simple concept squeezed onto the small screen. It fit right in with the platform's pick-up-and-play style, something you could easily start during a short break.

You control one of two bubble-blowing dinosaurs, Bub or Bob, working through screen after single-screen level. The goal is to trap every enemy in bubbles, then pop them to proceed. Each stage is a compact puzzle of platforms; you jump around, avoid enemies, and use bubbles both as weapons and as temporary stepping stones. The pace is quick, and later levels demand careful timing and positioning. It feels light and cheerful, even when the difficulty starts to climb.
