Bubble Bobble Jr. came out for the Game Boy in 1993, developed by Taito. It was one of those portable titles you'd see alongside the more famous platformers of the time, a familiar concept shrunk down for on the go play. The hardware limitations were obvious, but it did a decent job of bringing the arcade style action into your hands.

You control one of two small dinosaurs, Bub or Bob, and your goal is to clear each single screen level of enemies. You blow bubbles to trap monsters, then pop them to defeat each one. Some stages include fruit or other items to collect for extra points. The game moves at a quick pace, and later levels demand careful timing to avoid getting cornered. It feels light and frantic, a simple but engaging way to pass a short bus ride.
