Bust-A-Move DS came out for the Nintendo DS in 2005, developed by Taito. It was a solid puzzle game for the system, fitting right in with the era's focus on portable, pick-up-and-play experiences. The dual screens and touch controls gave it a fresh feel compared to older versions.
You control a small cannon at the bottom of the screen, aiming and firing colored bubbles upward to match groups of three or more of the same color. The main goal is to clear all the bubbles from each stage before they descend and crush you. Key mechanics include using the stylus for precise aiming and banking shots off the walls, plus the ability to swap the next bubble in your queue for better tactical options. The pacing starts relaxed but quickly demands faster decisions, especially in later stages where the layouts get tricky. It feels like a constant, pleasant battle against a slow but inevitable collapse.
