Play Cabal Online
In Cabal, you control a lone commando, dodging enemy fire while blasting soldiers, jeeps, and tanks to survive wave after wave of relentless attacks.
Cabal came to the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, a port of the arcade game developed by TAD Corporation. It arrived during a period when the NES library was diversifying, offering experiences that went beyond the platformers and RPGs that dominated the console. This was a straightforward, action-focused title that didn't try to reinvent the wheel, just deliver a specific kind of challenge.
You control a lone commando viewed from behind, pinned down at the bottom of the screen while enemies advance from the background. Your goal is simply to survive each wave, eliminating soldiers, jeeps, and tanks before they can take you out. The core mechanics involve using a crosshair to aim your rifle while constantly dodging incoming fire by moving your soldier left and right; there is no cover system, just your reflexes. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty spikes noticeably with each new stage, especially during the multi-part boss fights. It feels like a desperate, constant scramble for survival where a single mistake usually means starting the entire stage over.
