Captain America & The Avengers on SNES is pure '90s superhero chaos in the best way possible. You pick from Cap, Iron Man, Hawkeye, or Vision (depending on your cartridge) and just start wrecking robots and villains left and right. The first level throws you straight into a city under attack—no fancy tutorials, just punching drones and blocking lasers with Cap's shield like it's nobody's business.
It's definitely an arcade port, so expect simple controls and that classic "walk right, punch everything" energy. The two-player co-op is where it really shines, though—nothing beats teaming up with a friend to take down Red Skull while the SNES soundtrack blares heroic trumpets in the background. Yeah, the hit detection's a little janky sometimes, but hearing Cap yell "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!" before a boss fight still gives me chills.
They squeezed in some cool comic-style cutscenes too, which felt next-level back then. It's not the deepest beat 'em up, but if you miss when superhero games were about smashing buttons and saving the world in 30 minutes flat, this one's a time capsule worth dusting off.
