Play Captive Online
You wake up in a space prison controlling four busted-up droids, sending them into mazes to scavenge parts and shoot aliens while your guy stays locked in his cell—it’s janky, tense, and weirdly addictive.

Captive came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Tony Crowther. It was a time when games often pushed the boundaries of what you could do with a keyboard and a VGA screen, and this one definitely stood out for its strange, ambitious premise.
You control a team of four damaged robots from the safety of your prison cell, directing them through maze-like installations to gather parts and weapons while fighting off hostile aliens. The main goal is to repair your droids and eventually escape, which involves careful resource management, real-time combat, and navigating a series of interconnected levels. Progress is slow and deliberate, with a high difficulty that demands patience and strategy. It feels tense and isolating, but solving each puzzle brings a real sense of accomplishment.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
