Game Overview
Centipede on Game Boy Color is that classic arcade shooter where you’re blasting creepy-crawlies from the bottom of the screen. The centipedes start at the top, weaving through mushrooms, and you’ve got this little blaster thing to pick them off segment by segment. Miss a few, and suddenly you’ve got spiders bouncing around or fleas dropping straight down—it gets chaotic fast.
What’s cool is how the mushrooms act as obstacles. You can shoot them to clear paths, but sometimes leaving a few up helps break the centipede into smaller, more manageable chunks. The controls are simple, but timing your shots between all the bouncing bugs takes some practice. It’s one of those games where five minutes turns into “just one more try” territory.
Also, props for the GBC version keeping the weirdly satisfying sound effects from the arcade. That little *pew* noise never gets old.
