Play Charlie the Duck Online
Guide Charlie the Duck through side-scrolling levels, jump on platforms, swim to dodge enemies, and collect gems to reach the end of each stage.
I first played Charlie the Duck back in the MS-DOS days, around 1996. It was one of those shareware titles from Wiering Software that felt right at home among the platformers and puzzle games of the era. You controlled a duck named Charlie, and the goal was straightforward: navigate through a series of levels, avoid enemies, and collect items. It wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel, but it had a certain charm that made it memorable.
You guide Charlie through side-scrolling stages, jumping across platforms and swimming through underwater sections. The main objective is to reach the end of each level while gathering as many points as possible, often by picking up gems or other collectibles. Two mechanics stand out: the swimming sequences, where you maneuver carefully to avoid pufferfish and other hazards, and the occasional need to use bubbles or other environmental features to progress. The pacing is brisk, and some sections demand quick reflexes, especially when enemies swarm or platforms crumble. Playing it feels like a mix of lighthearted exploration and tense, moment-to-moment survival.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
