Play Children Of Mana (EvlChiken) Online
Dive into dungeons, battle monsters, collect elemental spirits, and upgrade your gear in Children of Mana on the Nintendo DS.
Children of Mana came out on the Nintendo DS in 2006, developed by Square Enix. It was part of that early wave of DS games that tried to figure out what the system could do, sitting alongside a lot of experimental titles and ports. It's an action RPG that draws from the Mana series, but it carves out its own path with a focus on repeated dungeon runs rather than a sprawling world map.
You control one of four heroes, each with a preferred weapon like swords or bows, and you dive into a series of dungeons to restore the Mana Tree. The game is built around screen by screen exploration; you clear a room of monsters before you can move to the next. Combat is straightforward hack and slash, but you collect elemental spirits that let you unleash special attacks. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can spike sharply in later areas, especially if you haven't been upgrading your gear. It feels like a grindy but satisfying loop of fighting through monster hordes to find that next slightly better piece of equipment.
