And yeah, the between-level cutscenes are hilariously dramatic—some gruff officer basically saying "good job, now go do it again, but harder." It’s pure arcade action with just enough strategy in picking when to burn your limited special attacks. The second loop after stage six? Brutal, but in the best way.
