Game Overview

Choujin - Ultra Baseball is one of those weird, wonderful NES sports games that never made it outside Japan. At first glance, it looks like a standard baseball sim—until your pitcher starts hurling fireballs or your batter smacks a home run so hard it knocks the outfield fence down. The management side’s surprisingly deep too, with stats and team-building that actually matter. I remember spending way too long tweaking lineups just to see if my custom team of flame-throwing sluggers could dominate the league. It’s janky in that classic 8-bit way, but the sheer chaos of those power-ups makes it stand out. Definitely not your grandpa’s baseball game.
