Game Overview

Chrono Trigger is one of those SNES classics that still holds up today. You start as Crono, this spiky-haired kid who barely talks, and before you know it, you're jumping through time portals, recruiting weird allies (a robot from the future? A cavewoman with a mean right hook?), and trying to stop the world from getting eaten by some cosmic horror. The combat’s snappy—no random encounters, just fights that pop up right on the map—and the music? Absolute bangers. Also, the fact that your choices actually change endings is wild for a game this old. It’s the kind of RPG where you’ll accidentally lose an hour because you got distracted talking to NPCs or hunting for hidden tech.

Oh, and the sprite work? Still gorgeous. Frog’s cape alone deserves an award.
