Play Chrono Trigger Prophets Guile Online

Play as Magus in his early days—cloak billowing, scheming alone through battles that feel dangerous without a party, with dialogue that clicks into place like missing puzzle pieces. The SNES pixel art and music pull you right back in, just for a couple tight, moody hours.

Game Overview

Ever wondered what Magus was up to before he showed up in Chrono Trigger? This romhack lets you play as the brooding, cloak-swirling Prophet during his early scheming days—and it nails the vibe so well, it feels like Square left this chapter in a drawer somewhere. You’ll recognize the same snappy turn-based combat and tech combos, but with new dialogue that actually makes you pause and go, "Wait, that’s why he said that thing later?"

It’s short—maybe a couple hours if you take your time—but packed with little nods to the original. The pixel art’s still gorgeous, the music’s all there, and somehow, fighting as a solo Magus (no Crono or Marle to bail you out) makes even basic battles feel tense. If you’ve ever replayed Chrono Trigger just to hang out in its world again, this is like finding a hidden room in a house you thought you knew every corner of.

Fair warning: You’ll probably dig out your SNES cart halfway through.
