Game Overview

Chuck Rock is this goofy little Game Boy side-scroller where you play as a caveman who fights dinosaurs by... well, belly-flopping them. Yeah, his main attack is literally slamming his gut into enemies, which never stops being ridiculous. You also pick up rocks to chuck (hence the name) at pterodactyls and other prehistoric nuisances.

The levels are short but surprisingly varied—one minute you're hopping across lava pits, the next you're dodging falling boulders. The controls take a second to get used to (that belly attack has weird timing), but once it clicks, it's oddly satisfying to bounce on dino heads. Just don't expect deep storytelling—your wife gets kidnapped in the first five seconds, and that's all the motivation you get.

It's janky in that classic early Game Boy way, but there's charm in its simplicity.
