Circus Caper came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, published by Toho. It was one of those late-era NES platformers that tried to stand out with a unique setting rather than just pure technical prowess. You don't see many games set entirely under the big top.

You control a boy named Tim, moving screen by screen through a haunted circus to save his kidnapped sister. The main objective is straightforward: get to the end of each stage and defeat the boss. Your primary actions are jumping on enemies and throwing a limited supply of marbles to stun them. The levels incorporate circus elements directly into the platforming; you walk tightropes, bounce on trampolines, and avoid animal acts. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can feel uneven, with some cheap enemy placements. It feels like a cautious, slightly clunky exploration of a dangerous and weirdly atmospheric place.
