Game Overview

Namco released this Game Boy Advance version of Xevious in 2004, part of a series that brought several classic NES titles to the handheld. It arrived during a period when many players were revisiting older games in portable form, and this one offered a straightforward, no frills conversion of the original vertical shooter.

You pilot the Solvalou fighter, scrolling upward automatically while dodging enemy fire from the air and bombing installations on the ground. Your main objective is simply to survive as long as possible, racking up points by destroying the Andorgen mothership's forces. You manage two separate attacks: a forward firing shot for airborne foes and bombs dropped onto ground targets, which requires careful positioning and timing. The pace is relentless, with enemies swarming from all directions, and the difficulty is unforgiving, demanding quick reflexes and memorization of attack patterns. It feels tense and demanding, a pure test of concentration and skill.
