Clay Fighter 63 1/3 is one of those weird, wonderful N64 fighters that never took itself seriously. The whole thing looks like a Saturday morning cartoon made of clay—characters stretch, wobble, and squash when they get hit, and half the moves are just ridiculous (one guy turns into a snowman and rolls at you).
It’s got that janky early 3D fighting game feel, but the charm’s in the details: the announcer sounds like he’s losing his voice, the stages have dumb interactive bits, and some characters straight-up cheat. I kept picking the blue blob guy because his attacks were just him flailing wildly—it shouldn’t work, but somehow it does.
Definitely more fun with a friend yelling next to you than playing solo. The whole thing feels like someone melted a bunch of action figures together and called it a fighting game.
