I picked up Club Penguin: Herbert's Revenge for the Nintendo DS back in 2010, a game Disney Interactive Studios put out. It was a fun little title to have on the go, fitting right in with the handheld's library of casual, mission based adventures during that era.
You control your own penguin agent, tasked with stopping Herbert P. Bear from causing chaos across the island. The gameplay involves moving screen by screen through various locations, solving environmental puzzles and using gadgets like the Hydro-Hopper to navigate water hazards. You spend a lot of time finding keycards, hacking simple number codes, and avoiding detection by Herbert's crabby minions. The pacing is relaxed, with puzzles that are more about observation than fast reflexes, making it a comfortable experience for younger players. It feels like quietly outsmarting a villain in your own fluffy, winter world.
