Play Commander Keen 1: Marooned on Mars Online
You bounce around Martian cities on a pogo stick, blasting Vorticons and hunting for hidden soda cans to rebuild your busted spaceship. Watch out for those pits—Mars isn’t great at OSHA compliance.

Game Overview
Commander Keen 1: Marooned on Mars is one of those games that just oozes early '90s charm. You play as Billy Blaze, an 8-year-old who somehow built a spaceship in his backyard (kids were built different back then). Of course, things go sideways when you land on Mars—some alien goons called Vorticons swipe parts of your ship, and now you’ve gotta hop, shoot, and pogo-stick your way through their weird Martian cities to get them back.
The controls are snappy, and the levels are packed with little secrets—like hidden rooms with extra lives or those floating soda cans that inexplicably give you points. The pogo stick is a game-changer, letting you bounce over gaps or onto higher platforms, though I definitely faceplanted into a few bottomless pits before getting the hang of it. And that overworld map? For 1990, letting you pick which level to tackle next felt downright revolutionary.
It’s tough in that classic, "no hand-holding" way, but the colorful sprites and goofy enemies (those green, one-eyed slugs still crack me up) make it hard to put down. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro platformers, this one’s a must-play.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
