Congo Bongo was one of the MS-DOS Classic Games releases, originally developed by Sega and later ported to various systems. It came out during a time when arcade-style platformers were common on home computers, offering a straightforward but challenging experience without much pretense.
You control a safari hunter trying to catch a mischievous gorilla that set your tent on fire. The game is played across several isometric stages where you jump between platforms, avoid animals like rhinos and monkeys, and dodge rolling coconuts. Each screen requires careful timing to navigate obstacles and progress upward. The pace is quick, and the perspective makes judging jumps tricky, leading to frequent falls. It feels like a test of patience and precision more than pure speed.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
