Congo: The Movie for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1995, developed by Visual Concepts. It was one of those licensed games from that era, based on the film, and it fits right in with other mid-90s SNES action-adventure titles.
You control an expedition member, navigating through jungle and temple environments screen by screen. The main goal is to find the lost city of Zinj and its diamonds, which involves a lot of pushing blocks to solve environmental puzzles and using a limited supply of flares to scare off aggressive gorillas. The pacing is slow, the controls feel heavy, and the difficulty comes more from awkward design than clever challenges. It feels like wrestling with the hardware just to get through each area.
