Play Cool Spot on GB Online

You play as the 7-Up dot hopping between surfboards and bottle caps, dodging crabs while collecting red dots in oddly satisfying little platforming challenges. The beachy pixel art and tight jumps make it way more fun than a soda ad has any right to be.

Game Overview

Cool Spot on Game Boy is one of those weirdly charming mascot platformers from the '90s—you play as the 7-Up dot, bouncing around colorful levels and collecting red dots (because apparently, soda mascots need to save their friends from… being uncool?).

The controls are snappy, and the levels have this beachy, arcade vibe with palm trees and surfboards everywhere. At first, I thought it’d just be a cash grab, but the platforming’s actually decent—jumping on bottle caps, dodging crabs, and hunting down hidden spots to max out your score. Some of the later stages get surprisingly tough, too.

It’s not groundbreaking, but if you’re into retro platformers with a side of nostalgia, this one’s a solid time-waster. Just don’t expect a deep story about soda liberation.
