Play Cool Spot (Beta) Online

You play as the 7 Up dot, bouncing off soda caps and dodging ants across these bright, bouncy levels—somehow it just clicks. The music’s way catchier than a soda ad has any right to be.

Game Overview

Cool Spot came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Virgin Interactive. It was part of that wave of early 90s platformers where companies tried turning just about anything into a game, and this one was based on the 7 Up mascot. It didn't take itself too seriously, but it had a certain charm that made it stand out among other titles on the system.

You control the red Spot from the logo, moving through stages set in a backyard, on a beach, and other everyday locations. Your goal is to rescue other trapped Spots by collecting letters that spell "uncola" and finding your way to the exit. The main mechanics involve bouncing on bottle caps to reach high platforms, shooting bubbles to stun or defeat enemies like ants and crabs, and carefully timing jumps across moving objects. The pacing is fairly quick, and some later stages get surprisingly tricky with precise platforming demands. It feels energetic and lighthearted, like a Saturday morning cartoon you can actually play.
