Play Cool Spot on Snes Online
Guide Cool Spot through themed levels, shoot bubbles at enemies, and rescue your Spot buddies while mastering platforming challenges on SNES.
Cool Spot came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Virgin Interactive. It was part of that wave of early 90s platformers where every brand, even a soda, seemed to get its own game. You control the actual 7-Up dot, the red spot from the logo, which sounds strange but ends up being a surprisingly solid action game.
You guide Spot through themed stages, like a beach or a kitchen, clearing each screen of enemies by shooting bubbles before moving on. The main goal is to rescue your fellow Spot buddies trapped in each level. Key mechanics include careful platforming across floating soda bubbles and using your projectile attack to pop obstacles and foes. The pacing is brisk, and some later stages demand precise jumps and quick reflexes. It controls tightly, and nailing a tricky sequence of jumps and shots delivers a real sense of accomplishment.
