Man, Corncob Deluxe is one of those weird MS-DOS games that somehow sticks with you. You control this little corncob dude zipping through maze-like levels, grabbing power-ups while avoiding… whatever the heck those pixelated enemies are supposed to be. The controls are simple—arrow keys and one action button—but the speed ramps up fast, and suddenly you’re panic-dodging like your life depends on it.

The whole thing has this ridiculous charm—the sound effects are pure 8-bit crunchiness, and the color palette looks like someone spilled neon paint on a floppy disk. I kept expecting it to get old after a few rounds, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about the way the score multiplies when you chain pickups. Just don’t get too cocky—those later levels get brutal.
