Crash: Mind Over Mutant came out on the Nintendo DS in 2008, published by Activision. It was part of that wave of portable platformers trying to capture the feel of their bigger console cousins, a decent effort to squeeze a 3D adventure onto the dual screens.
You control Crash, running and spinning through levels, but the big twist is using a special device to temporarily take over various mutants. Each mutant has a unique ability, like a Scorporilla that can climb certain walls or a Sludge that spits acid to melt obstacles. The main goal is to stop Doctor Neo Cortex's latest scheme, which involves collecting Mojo and freeing your brainwashed friends. The pacing is a bit stop-and-start as you constantly switch between controlling Crash and finding the right mutant for the job. It feels a little clunky at times, but there's a simple, silly satisfaction in causing chaos with your mutant army.
